Obaidat sponsors a symposium on Arab sports culture at the University of Jordan

Arab sports culture between reality and ambition was the main title of the media symposium held this afternoon (Sunday) in the theater of the University of Jordan Academy for Training and Career Preparation building, under the patronage and presence of the President of the University of Jordan, His Excellency Dr. Nazir Obaidat, and in the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Jordan, Nayef Al-Sudairi, and a group of Leaders of Jordanian and Arab sports, a large number of faculty and administrative staff members at the University of Jordan and the College of Sports Sciences, and university students.

The symposium, which was organized by the Faculty of Sports Sciences at the University of Jordan, in cooperation and coordination with the Jordanian Society for Sports Culture and the Arab Federation for Sports Culture, witnessed extensive discussions and sports-cultural dialogues by elite speakers who stressed the importance of the role of sports culture and how to spread this important concept in Arab societies. The symposium included several topics for the main speakers: His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Yousef Al-Mana from the State of Qatar (Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture), His Excellency Al-Ain Jamal Al-Sarayrah from Jordan (Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jordanian Society for Sports Culture), His Excellency Mr. Faisal Ghassal from Saudi Arabia ( Minister Plenipotentiary in the Sports Department of the League of Arab States), His Excellency Dr. Sari Hamdan from Jordan (Deputy His Highness the President of the Jordanian Olympic Committee), His Excellency our colleague Ashraf Mahmoud from Egypt (President of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture).

The speakers also agreed on the importance of enhancing the concept of sports culture and openness to all relevant and specialized parties, and on the importance of supporting and supporting Arab participation in the Olympic Games, expressing their wishes of success to the Arab athletes who are preparing to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics competitions in a few days.

The participants appreciated the role of the Jordanian Society for Sports Culture and its continuous successes since its establishment and its constant interaction with the activities of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture. The speakers also agreed on the importance of activating the role of the Board of Trustees in the Arab Federation for Sports Culture and the Board of Trustees in the Jordanian Society for Sports Culture to achieve more goals.

The Jordanian Society for Sports Culture took advantage of this symposium to sign a cooperation agreement with the University of Jordan aimed at strengthening cooperation and partnership relations between the two sides, in a way that serves the public interest and is consistent with trends towards sports culture. The agreement was signed on behalf of the university by Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Saud, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, and Hassan Masoud, President of the Association. .

 

The President of the Jordanian Society for Sports Culture, Hassan Masoud, began the symposium with a welcoming speech during which he stressed that the presence of this elite of sports leaders is a success in itself and a step forward towards strengthening the concept of sports culture as an important aspect and a main goal of the Sports Culture Society for the advancement of Jordanian and Arab sports, as he pointed out. Sports have become an essential part of the lives of many people and have inspired many stories of success and excellence for young men and women, especially in our dear homeland, Jordan. For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences at the University of Jordan, Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Saud, and the director of the symposium, stressed the importance of the scientific aspect, as it, in addition to knowledge, is one of the main pillars for enhancing the concept of sports culture. Sports has also become a social and cultural phenomenon that affects the progress, development, and building of society's civilization, and that modern man There is an urgent need for health, fitness, and sports culture, and the upbringing of the individual and teaching him the socially and athletically desirable behavior contributes to achieving intellectual security and sustainable human development, because the stability and progress of societies depend on the safety of the ideas of its people. The symposium was presented by Professor Dr. Ziad Al-Rumaili, Head of the Department of Sports Movement and Training Sciences at the College of Sports Sciences at the University of Jordan, who presented a comprehensive introductory file on the Jordanian Society for Sports Culture, while Dr. Nazir Obaidat honored the participants by presenting them with commemorative shields at the conclusion of the symposium.

Special honor for journalist Muhammad Qadri Hassan The symposium witnessed a special honor for the distinguished journalist Muhammad Qadri Hassan, a member of the Jordanian Society for Sports Culture and media spokesperson, in appreciation of his pioneering role and sincere efforts in forming, establishing and publicizing the association in Jordan and his contribution to the success of its activities and achieving its goals since the year 2019 in cooperation and coordination with the president and members.

Dinner and award ceremony

 Yesterday evening, Saturday, the Landmark Hotel witnessed a ceremony honoring the Arab delegations participating in the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture, where Dr. Barghouti and Muhammad Saadeh handed over commemorative shields on behalf of the family of the Jordanian Society for Sports Culture. The ceremony also witnessed a special honor from His Excellency Muhammad Yousef Al-Mana, President. The Board of Trustees of the Arab Federation for Sports Culture in appreciation and gratitude for the efforts made to make the Arab Federation a success and its pioneering role in spreading the concept of sports culture at the level of the greater Arab world.
