They Hear Us is an initiative issued by students of the College of Sports Sciences at the University of Jordan. Its goal is to help and integrate students with special needs, especially deaf students, from the College of Sports with the rest of their able-bodied colleagues.
Because of what we, students of the University of Jordan, observe of the marginalization and exclusion of deaf students in various colleges around the university due to the difficulty of communicating with them and the fear of unintentionally offending them, we developed this initiative, which is an introductory workshop on the language of the deaf that brings together deaf students with their colleagues to spread familiarity among them and increase awareness. About how to deal correctly and methods of communication to study and understand how to communicate and deal with them, even if it is just a little. The initiative will be launched from the College of Sports Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Fatima Khreisat and then to the rest of the university's colleges.
