​Under the patronage of HE Dr. Nathir Obeidat, President, University of Jordan, NOS  holded its Teachers Teach Teachers 2nd Annual Sports Conference entitled“Sports and Sustainable Development Goals” at its NOS-Shmaisani premises on Sunday, November 20, 2022, as per the attached programme. This conference is organized in partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) - Sport for Development Programme, and in cooperation with the School of Sport Science - Jordan University. It aims at sharing best practices of integrating sustainable development goals into the sports philosophy and lessons  , Attended by a number of private and public schools. The idea of the conference was inspired by a training held by GIZ for NOS sports teachers and as we very much believe in the importance of sharing knowledge, information and best practices with our fellow schools, we decided to organize this conference.​

Dr. Khitam Ay returned from the ​ ​capital, Abu Dhabi, after she represented Jordan and participated in the International Boxing Federation Congress and the Third International Boxing Forum 2022, on the sidelines of which the Professional Boxing Champions Championship was held, in which the world and Olympic boxing elite participated. As Prof. Khitam is an elected member of the Asian Boxing Federation, and she is the second vice president of the Jordanian Boxing Federation.

Today, 10/31/2023, students of the College of Sports Sciences with special needs met with the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Walid Al-Hamouri, and the Head of the Physical Education Department, Dr. Hassan Al-Oran, on behalf of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hassan Asri. Dr. Walid Al-Hamouri welcomed the students with special needs. Private and sign language interpreters, Dr. Hassan Al-Oran, Head of the Physical Education Department, identified the students' problems, needs, and requirements and conveyed them to Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Saud, Dean of the College.

Today, Tuesday, 11/14/2023, an awareness lecture was held in the theater of the College of Sports Sciences on cybercrime law, as part of the college's efforts to enhance awareness of cybersecurity topics and their applications. The lecture was presented by Captain Ayoub Abu Rabie from the Criminal Investigation Directorate, Cybercrime Section, and this lecture was attended by The lecture was given by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Saud, the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Walid Al-Hamouri, and a group of faculty members in the College and a large number of College students. The lecture received great interaction from students and teachers, and Captain Abu Rabie answered a number of important inquiries from the audience.

​on Saturday, 11/18/2023 Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Saud the dean of school of sports sciences concluded The training workshop entitled (Technology of body composition analysis devices/ In Body) which was held in the theatre of school of Sports Sciences / University of Jordan.The workshop included an introduction to the devices, their importance, benefits, and how they work, it also included a practical application on devices and a detailed method for reading the examination It also included a practical application on devices and a detailed method for reading the examination. At the end of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Hassan Al-Saud thanked Dr. Dima Abu Mallouh for this initiative, he praised the students and their keenness to benefit from these qualitative workshops, seizing opportunities for everything the labor market requires and everything that is useful in the field of specialization.  This initiative was under the supervision of school of sports sciences Students Activities Committee and graduates who are represented by Dr. Fatima Khraisat, member of the Quality Committee in Physical Education Department at school of Sports Sciences

Professor Dr. Inaam Khalaf, Vice President of the University for Quality and Accreditation Affairs, visited the College of Sports Sciences today, Tuesday, 11/21/2023, with her team, with the aim of holding a workshop related to the strategic plan and the executive plan of the University of Jordan, from which the College of Sports Sciences' strategy and executive plan emerge, and this workshop It is part of the project of visits by Professor Dr. Vice President to all faculties of the University of Jordan and is held specifically for members of the teaching and administrative staff. The Vice President presented the strategic plan for the University of Jordan and the mechanism of moving in participatory steps with faculty members to advance the University of Jordan's ranking on the ladder of world universities. In turn, the faculty members presented a number of suggestions, which in turn improve the quality of the educational process in the College of Sports Sciences. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Saud, Dean of the College, professors, deputy deans, department heads, and members of the teaching and administrative.

Today, Saturday 11/25/2023, the students of the College of Sports Sciences took the initiative to clean the Ajloun forests in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Directorate of Agriculture of Ajloun Governorate. The students took the initiative to clean one of the most important forests of Ajloun, which is considered an important tourist area. The University of Jordan and the College of Sports Sciences were thanked, represented by Dr. Fatima Khreisat. The supervisor of the initiative praised the efforts of the students. They were hosted at the Ashtafina forest station and invited to visit Ajloun Castle.

On Tuesday, 11/28/2023, an awareness lecture on the principles of first aid was held in cooperation with the Civil Defense Directorate, where the Dean of Al-Kaila welcomed the lecture assigned by the Directorate, and the attendance of students and faculty members.

The specialist lecture from the Civil Defense Directorate began by talking about the most important injuries that occur in the sports field and how to provide first aid and take appropriate action depending on the nature of the case.

At the end of the lecture, the Dean of the College thanked the lecturer and the students attending and also thanked the General Directorate of Civil Defense for its continued cooperation with the College of Sports Sciences in various fields.

​ They Hear Us is an initiative issued by students of the College of Sports Sciences at the University of Jordan. Its goal is to help and integrate students with special needs, especially deaf students, from the College of Sports with the rest of their able-bodied colleagues.

 Because of what we, students of the University of Jordan, observe of the marginalization and exclusion of deaf students in various colleges around the university due to the difficulty of communicating with them and the fear of unintentionally offending them, we developed this initiative, which is an introductory workshop on the language of the deaf that brings together deaf students with their colleagues to spread familiarity among them and increase awareness. About how to deal correctly and methods of communication to study and understand how to communicate and deal with them, even if it is just a little. The initiative will be launched from the College of Sports Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Fatima Khreisat and then to the rest of the university's colleges.

Professor Dr. Khitam Mousa Ay, School of sports sciences  Vice Dean for E-learning, Quality, Accreditation and International Classifications participated in an official mission as a member of both the Jordanian Boxing Federation and the Asian Boxing confederation, she participated in the global  boxing  forum   and congress established by the International Boxing Association ( IBA ) , of which the Jordanian Boxing Federation is a member of its general authority. The forum was held in the United Arab Emirates/Dubai during the period 8 - 10 /12/2023

Believing in the role of colleges and by the directives of His Excellency Professor Dr. President of the University, the College of Sports Sciences, in partnership with the College of Medicine and Health Colleges and in cooperation with the Jordanian Anti-Doping Organization, held the “Doping Testing Attendants" course, which qualifies them to work in the service of Jordanian sports and benefit from their knowledge in the field of combating the scourge of doping and Limit its spread.

This course was very well received by the students, and it strengthens these participatory programs among the students of the colleges at the university in terms of working together in one crucible as a work team representing all the colleges of the university. In a way that serves Jordanian sports, they will be assigned in the future the tasks of conducting doping tests for athletes. Also, this program, and after the continuity of the students' continued access to many subsequent courses, will be able to participate and represent Jordan in international sports forums at the level of the Olympic, international and continental committees as well as International, continental and regional federations.

The “Ayham Hisham" team was able to win the title of the College of Sports Sciences Football Pentathlon Championship, organized by the University of Jordan, after defeating the “Abdullah Al-Khawaldeh" team in extra time, with a score of 3-2, in the final match that was held “Tuesday" under the auspices of the Dean of the College. Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Saud, and on his behalf were Dr. Bassam Mesmar and Dr. Walid Al-Hamouri, who followed the match.

 It witnessed beautiful artistic glimpses, due to the presence of a group of players from the College of Sports Sciences, who represent Jordanian professional clubs and national teams.

 16 teams participated in the tournament, which lasted for a whole month, and its competitions were held under the supervision of the organizing committee consisting of students Muhannad Al-Khalayla, Alaa Al-Abadi, and Suhaib Al-Manasir.

 After the final match, Dr. Mesmar and Al-Hammouri crowned the winning team in first place.

​Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Sports Sciences, Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Saud, and the Director of the Civil Defense Directorate, representing the Director of Public Security, during the Police Sports Day and at the Police Sports Federation Hall, a friendly five-a-side football match was held between the teams of the College of Sports Sciences and the Public Security team, on the sidelines of honoring the teams. Public Security for their sporting achievements for the year 2023, as the Directorate of Public Security is keen annually to host the team of the Faculty of Sports at the University of Jordan in honor of the mother of Jordanian universities and their effective role in participating in national events within the ongoing cooperation between the Faculty of Sports Sciences and the Directorate of Public Security.

 

Regarding the match, it was very strong between the two teams, especially since the College of Sports includes an elite group of Jordanian football club stars, and the Public Security team, which includes the best five-a-side football players in Jordan. The match, which was dominated by a festive nature, ended with two halves of 10 minutes each, preceded by Presenting the ceremony with Public Security music, and presenting bouquets of roses to the Dean of the College and the Director of the Civil Defense Directorate on behalf of the Director of Public Security. At the end of the meeting, the Public Security Directorate presented its honor to the security teams and players who achieved achievements during the year 2023.

​As part of the social responsibility project with the SOS Children's Villages Association and the participation of the Community Development and Service Center and a number of colleges at the University of Jordan, the College of Sports Sciences, within its program prepared for this project, hosted the first children of SOS Villages, where the Dean of the College opened this program and in the presence of the Assistant Director of the Community Service Center, Abdulaziz Al-Kiswani, and a supervisor. The program is Dr. Fatima Al-Kharaisat. The Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Hassan Al-Saud, welcomed the speech with a speech that included the importance of this agreement for Jordanian society and the importance of what the College of Sports Sciences provides in terms of developing talents and sports abilities and supplying sports institutions with these young talents from the children of the Jordanian SOS villages. The event included a group of sports that were trained by a number of distinguished students from the College of Sports Sciences, working to develop the children's physical and skill abilities.
