The College of Sports Sciences held a dialogue session entitled “Political Awareness for University Students and Party Life", delivered by His Excellency Representative Salem Hosni Al-Omari from the Jordanian House of Representatives, in the presence of several college students, assistant deans, and faculty members. The Dean of the College, Prof. Hassan Al-Saud, began the talk by stressing the importance and need for students to have political awareness amid the turbulent political events that the region is experiencing. His Excellency the Representative continued the dialogue by discussing the importance of researching parties that suit the inclinations of young people, without following slogans alone, but rather considering constructive goals.
He emphasized the important role of youth in the process of political modernization and the necessity of forming national parties based on political, economic, and social programs. He also clarified the country's leader's orientation toward youth involvement in party life and decision-making, as they are the nation's pillar and foundation.
His Excellency the Representative answered the students' questions about the political parties targeting them, explaining the importance of youth in the rise and growth of any political party due to their great capabilities and potential. He also stressed the need for diversity between men and women, youth and elders under one dome, which contributes to the maturity of political decision-making. He also touched on the role of the Hashemite leadership in providing support and assistance to our brothers in Gaza and clarified Jordan's role in supporting the Palestinian cause.
At the end of the session, Professor Hassan Al-Saud thanked His Excellency Representative Salem Al-Omari for accepting the invitation of the College of Sports Sciences and his open-mindedness for the dialogue. In turn, His Excellency the Representative thanked the College of Sports Sciences and the Assistant Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Fatima Al-Khraisat, for their kind invitation.
